MTM: Mitchellville, Iowa

I've never really been to Mitchellville. I've driven by it numerous times to go to the eastern part of our state but I've never stopped in. Oh, I see the yellow/orange "DO NOT PICK UP HITCHHIKERS!" warning as we get closer to the exit but we usually sail on past. Inside Mitchellville is a prison for women. It is fairly large and it houses women that have murdered their children, abused their children, abused drugs, murdered their spouses, or any other crime you can think of. The fencing around it is foreboding and scary and it makes me more careful of my felonious thoughts for fear I become some prisoners' plaything.

But...this weekend we ventured in to that small town and took our two younger preTzels and two of their friends (who happen to be brothers) to a corn maze.

Look at how EXCITED they are! Wee! We get to run around in a cornfield for a few hours with flashlights WEEE! This maze was 25 acres of maze.

So this week I decided to take YOU in a corn maze! Are you ready? Are you sure? Okay...here we go!

Now wasn't that fun? I had a blast doing it and I think the boys did too. If it weren't for Middle preTzel's friend we would not have found our way out when it started to lightening and rain. He led us out without once getting lost. That kid has a wicked sense of direction because I'm sure I would have led us straight to the center and kept us there. :D

We're hoping to return in a couple of weeks and try to finish it before it rains. If you ever get a chance to go to a cornfield maze don't pass that chance up. It's great fun!

Do you think we could lose some kids on purpose? And then find our way out?
